Welcome to another Fresh Start Monday, where we change the narrative… Today we will be looking at the importance of our environment.

Earth, the blue planet, the only plant in this solar system that can sustain life as we know it. For millenniums, it has been the home of man, animals and plants. Though, in todays day and age, there is a race towards the space age. But until such time when man conquers and colonize space, Earth remains our home.
As the only home we have ever known, we must take care of that which take cares of us. We are simple stewards, caring for this planet during our tenure here.
Over time, during our tenure of this planet, we have modified it in order to suit our needs. All that is required by us are provided by our environment to include water, timber, food, energy and so much more. Yet, we divert from this natural ecosystem, starting to demand more of it to build not just our needs but also our wildest fantasies, while we destroy the forest and river. At the same time, we realize that our need for those resources is absolute and we simply cannot survive without them.
A lot of the environmental damage is caused by us which is led by the depletion of the planet’s vital natural resources. Then there are various kinds of pollutions such as air, water and noise. Can you imagine, one hundred years ago, how it was envisioned that the industrial revolution would have made the world a better place? Who would have thought that a hundred years later we would be now seeking a solution to climate change?
These widespread damages to the environment lead to the destruction of natural habitats which puts many natural ecosystems at risk of extinction to include us humans. We must be made aware that we are the product of our environment.
A healthy environment produces healthy inhabitants… provided the inhabitants care for the environment responsibly. Truly, what we get is directly proportional to what we put in. May we give intentional thought and action to our environment and change our narrative…
