Finis Coronat Opus

Finis Coronat Opus is a Latin phrase which means “The end crowns the work” or “The goal gives value to the labour that produced it”.

It is easy to get weary, especially in trying times. It is easy to lose sight of the reasons for our ‘Why’. Why do we awake early and set off to work? Why are we working and going to school? Why are we working and starting a business after work? All while caring for our families, maintaining our homes, taking care of ourselves and all the other things that need to be done.

“Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes, but when you look back everything is different?” – C.S Lewis

It is in these times that we need to remember our reasons why we do the things we do. These reasons should be embedded in our goals, if not, then we need to do an evaluation. These reasons give the mundane value, for though they seem ordinary… a commonplace; they come together beautifully. These small efforts add up and their sum is greater than their parts.

According to C.S Lewis, day by day nothing changes but looking back everything is different. So, don’t get discouraged by the routine and ordinary because the end will crown the work.
