In the Middle

Have you ever started a journey and at some point, along the way your will to continue wavered? You start saying to yourself, it is too difficult to move on? Now you find yourself in the middle of your transition, the process has started, but not yet completed.

Being in the middle can be an interesting position, we are not where we started and definitely not at the destination. The middle is a journey we often have trouble navigating. Sometimes we can no longer see where we started, maybe we have changed so much that we can’t go back to the starting point. And there are also times when we can’t see the finish line, maybe we need more growth to get there. In the middle, we are no longer who we were and we are not yet who we are becoming. What do we do?

Sometimes discouragement and frustration try to eat us alive, we consider stopping and even turning back. We fear the challenges and obstacles that may line our path if we choose to continue. Discouragement will cause us to stop walking, stop moving, to come to a halt. But that my friend, is a very dangerous thing, keep moving, don’t come to a halt. When we stop moving, then we’ll probably sit down and start looking at others, complaining and comparing. We lose sight of ourselves, our journey and our why. Focus not on the challenges that may come, but the very reason you set out on this journey. Once that is done, your purpose should be renewed if you want to achieve that goal.

I encourage you my friend, continue, for the journey is not for the swift but those who endure.

“If you can’t fly, then run, if you can’t run, then walk, if you can’t walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.”

Martine Luther King Jr.

So, while we are in the middle, may we keep moving…
