Tribute to Our Children

As long as I can remember I’ve always loved children, their pureness is just so unmatched. When I became a parent, I learnt that there is so much more than meets the eye. The most valuable lesson I have learnt is an absolutely new definition of love, followed by the importance of grace in our daily lives.

Today I take the time out to show love to our children all across the world, for they will one day grow up to be the leaders of tomorrow. As I show my appreciation, love and affection for the next generation of leaders I say to us adults across the world, we must be a beacon of hope, a guiding light showing them the way they must go. We must pave for them a path that will ensure their success. We must preserve this world that they will one day inherit from us, and ensure that they will be ready to face any challenge that comes their way.

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.”

Kahlil Gibran

It is through my many interactions with children, my very own included, that I have come to build several of my most prolific virtues. Children have a way of inspiring, breathing new life into situations that we had long thought dead and as a result bringing a smile to our faces. They often times test our patience to the very limit yet we cannot help but smile. And through each interaction they are able to bring our inner child to the surface. Bringing forth some of our best memories of our younger days as we reminisce. It is no wonder, that I feel it is our solemn duty and obligation to prepare them for the future, just as the generation before prepared us. Children are but blank canvas that are easily influenced and painted by the world. As such, we must ensure that we remain that constant artist in their lives that colour their world with vibrant and vivid colour.

Whitney Houston in one of her most famous song also wrote,
"I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be...".

So let us together prepare them for the future while we cover them with love.
